About Make The Connection

In 2003, I opened Make The Connection, LLC to address something that most clinics, practitioners and treatment philosophies miss: the root cause of patients’ pain, dysfunction and injury. After years spent working in the traditional health and fitness industry, and frustrated by the lack of results it produced for both my patients and myself, I opened my own PT practice to treat the source, not just treat symptoms.

Named for the many layers of connection that can be made within the human body and that extend to its surrounding environment, Make The Connection, LLC strives to achieve optimal health and performance for all of our clients. Using Muscle Activation Techniques (MAT™), I can literally make the connection and reestablish communication between the muscles and the central nervous system that turns on—or resets—the muscles. By optimizing the performance of the nervous system and reactivating weak or non-functioning muscles, the body no longer compensates for the weakness or dysfunction and the associated pain ceases.

MAT provides a kind of owner’s manual for the human body, allowing one to understand the interrelatedness of the body’s systems, muscles, joints, nerves, motions and functions. Through my practice with Make The Connection, I also educate patients about the connection between what they put into their bodies and the performance that follows. Once you understand how to read the manual, analysis of the body will reveal this performance information and allow one to unravel its story to the beginning.

Each person has their own unique patterns of compensation, even if they experience pain in the same area(s) as someone else. Consequently, each MAT treatment is a unique, individual experience addressing the dysfunction and muscular imbalances that can be the accumulation of a long history of compensation and injury. Correcting these root elements of pain and imbalance is what MAT can achieve; it can give you back the life you thought forever lost.
