Facts and Questions

What should I wear to my appointment?

You should wear loose work out type clothing. Most appointments you will be barefoot or in socks. Do not wear jeans, thick clothing or layers, or fly front pants. Clothing that is thin, stretches and gives with movement is best.

How long should I expect my appointment to last?

Please plan that your first session will last about 1 hour and 15 minutes, with 15 minutes to cover paperwork about your medical/injury history. Subsequent sessions will last 1 hour.

Do you accept health insurance?

Make the Connection is not in network with any insurance companies nor does it submits claims to insurance. Receipts for reimbursement from your insurance company or HSA accounts will be provided upon request.

What are your fees and payment options?

The rates in Jan 2016 will increase to $150.00 per session. Credit cards will be accepted starting in 2016 as well. You may pay via check, or credit card (VISA, MC, Discover—Debit, credit and HSA cards) at the time of service.

What should I expect or might I experience after my treatment?

Following your treatment you may be sore or tired, or you may feel just fine; each individual’s experience is unique. MAT is a deep tissue treatment and, in some cases, can cause bruising.

How active can I be following my treatment?

Generally after the first session (or the first few sessions) you will want to take it easy; however, this will depend on your situation. You should plan on exercising prior to your MAT session and not after. As your condition and stability improves you may exercise anytime.

How many sessions will I need or should I expect to schedule?

With MAT, and the Rx process in particular, it will be ongoing, more frequently at first and then spreading out over time. Life takes it toll and if you plan on an active lifestyle maintaining your body will be part of that. I will continue to get regular maintenance just as I do for my car or home.

What are your hours?

I see patients:

  • Monday – 1:00pm to 5:00pm
  • Tuesday and Wednesday – 10:00am to 5:00pm
  • Thursday 10:00am to 4:00pm

What is your cancellation Policy?

Make The Connection has a 24 hour cancellation policy. If you need to cancel your treatment session, please contact us at least 24 hours in advance to avoid being charged full price.

May I schedule my appts online?

Sorry scheduling on line is not possible. You will need to call to make an appt. Scheduling is tight and I would recommend making 3-4 appts approximately a week apart at first. You can always cancel, but getting onto the schedule is more difficult. I would like to know a little more about your situation and goals before scheduling so speaking in person or via e-mail is best before scheduling.
